Buffer image.
Not really politics or satire if it’s literally just showing how things are.

I personally know a lot of “preppers” who are losing their shit right now. I’m just like... this whole social distancing thing is nice. If it wasn’t for the economic impact on small local businesses, I’d be down for riding this out for as long as possible.

Wait...shouldn’t these people be smug right now? This is the sort of thing they are prepping for isn’t it?

you would think so. I think they were not mentally prepared. Either that or their rations were expired or not as appetizing as they thought.

I was going to get my semiannual haircut around the start of April so I’m pretty shaggy. It’s fine tho because I don’t go outside much anymore so whatever
Day to day is wake up, make coffee, walk to the next room where I’ve made a little office, work for a while, eat, work, eat, shop for cars/parts for a while, sleep
It’s a life

i dont think it has anything to do with actually prepping. I think its just the FU mentality. Without people around, they have no one to pretend to be a badass to.

What I find funny is my cousin was trying to find a barbe ron the side. A) you’re like th e only one at work so who cares what you look like, B) you have a buzzcut, so how hard can it be with a cheap trimmer

Well this is timely.
This weekend I considered making a one of those “WE NEED HAIRCUTS!” signs and heading down to the local protest...but then I decided that it’s much, much easier to just give myself a buzzcut and not expose myself out there (both to the virus and the nutjobs).
Buzzcut took all of 10 minutes, much faster, safer, and cheaper than protesting for hair salons, I promise!

Over 30 million Americans have applied for unemployment since the shutdowns started, businesses across the country are left with no choice but to permanently close, previously successful, self-reliant people are in line at food banks, supply chains are failing, Farmers are dumping milk and culling animals that aren’t able to be sent for processing, grocery stores are beginning to face the reality of rationing...
Yeah, people are protesting for fucking haircuts.

I'm not saying/not acknowledging the economic harm done, but at the same time imagine the harm if we (North America) were all like Italy or Iran

I understand the need for the stay at home orders, but the objective was to flatten the curve. The curve was flattened handily, but there’s no end to the lockdown in sight. Coronavirus vaccines are difficult to nail down, and best case we’re looking at 18 months to a vaccine. What’s the plan from the US leaders?! There’s a lot of middle ground between opening everything up and returning to normalcy and staying locked down indefinitely, but instead the US plays the partisan games- Trump says we should start to open, the media and blue state politicians shriek “orange man bad!!! Stay home longer!!!” Meanwhile, hospitals are going bankrupt and laying off staff across the country because the massive influx of patients isn’t happening, yet elective and routine hospital visits are either banned or strongly discouraged. What happens if we keep the shutdown going for six months only to see a resurgence of the virus but we bankrupted the entire medical industry? Keeping this blanket shutdown of the economy going on for months will result in more death and destruction than the virus.
Young and healthy should return to work and take precautions/ practice social distancing, the elderly/those with vulnerabilities should continue to shelter in place.

I think reopening should be heavily based on testing. Unfortunately, a big weak spot for the US.
Its a shame you guys don't have universal healthcare. Our hospitals should come out stronger.
